Media Specialist - Print Sales

THE OPPORTUNITY:
This is a chance to step into a high-profile Media Specialist role managing a portfolio of sophisticated, high-value clients across NZME’s premium publishing products. You’ll be trusted to build deep customer relationships, deliver innovative solutions, and consistently drive revenue growth.
This a Part-time role (32 hours per week), working collaboratively across NZME, you’ll combine audience insight, creativity and commercial acumen to design campaigns that not only meet client objectives, but also strengthen NZME’s profile in market. This role is ideal for a confident media professional who thrives on ownership, momentum and results.
HOW YOU’LL DO IT:
You’ll take a strategic, hands-on approach to account management and growth by:
Delivering dynamic, audience-driven, print advertising solutions using NZME’s full product suite
Growing key accounts year on year to meet and exceed projected sales targets
Identifying and capitalising on new business development opportunities as they arise
Supporting client events, partnerships and activations when required
You’ll also take ownership of your performance through strong self-management and organisation:
Providing accurate reporting, forecasting and insights to support commercial decision-making
Fully utilising CRM systems and operating in line with NZME business rules
Managing time effectively, prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Contributing to planning discussions and working with a NZME-wide mindset to deliver the best outcomes
You’ll operate with integrity and care by complying with NZME policies, championing health, safety and wellbeing, and consistently demonstrating NZME’s values.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
You’re recognised as a trusted subject matter expert by your clients and peers, with a proven track record of delivering strong sales performance.
Expert-level experience delivering end-to-end campaigns across media platforms
Demonstrated success in sales, planning or media roles where innovation and audience focus are critical
Confidence managing high-value, complex client relationships
Strong knowledge of the New Zealand media landscape, with wider market exposure an advantage
A relevant degree and/or equivalent industry experience
KEY ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills to build rapport and convey value
Resilience and the ability to handle rejection, manage setbacks, and remain motivated to meet targets
Proficiency in tools like CRM/digital tools for tracking leads, managing pipelines, and analysing data
Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple leads, and maintain high activity levels
A genuine interest in the customer’s business (curiosity) and the ability to adapt to different situations
You’re an effective communicator who keeps stakeholders informed, welcomes collaboration, and contributes positively to team culture. You’re adaptable, curious and proactive about your own learning and development.
