Senior Software Engineer - Fullstack
Build products Kiwis love at NZME! Grow your skills across the stack, embrace AI‑assisted delivery, and make an impact.
Ready to take the next step in your software engineering journey?
We’re looking for intermediate engineers who are ready to level up at NZME and move to a senior level, who love building great products and want to broaden their skill set in a supportive, high‑performing team. Whether you’re looking to grow in your current specialisation or you’re keen to stretch into adjacent skills, this role gives you room to learn, contribute, and make an impact on products used by Kiwis every day.
Who you are:
You’re currently an intermediate Fullstack, Frontend, or Backend software engineer at NZME.
You can demonstrate an ability, or a strong interest, to learn across the stack (eg. a backend engineer curious about frontend frameworks, or a frontend engineer keen to deepen API or data skills).
You understand how to leverage AI tools responsibly (from code assistance to workflow automation) to boost quality and get more out of your day.
What you’ll do:
Ship well‑crafted features and improvements, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to performance, security, and resilience.
Apply AI‑assisted practices (eg, smarter test generation, code review prompts, documentation support) to accelerate delivery without compromising standards.
Share knowledge, mentor peers where you can, and pitch in on platform upgrades and CI/CD improvements.
What will set you up for success:
Proficiency in your current area (React/TypeScript for FE; Python/.NET for BE; a mix for Fullstack) and a growth mindset for adjacent skills.
Comfort with Git, testing, and CI/CD and curiosity about how AI can streamline those workflows.
Clear communication, ownership, and a habit of balancing speed with quality and security.
How to apply:
Tell us why you’re keen and where you want to grow - attach a short note or link to recent work. Apply via the Team Tailor internal portal or contact your people leader to lodge an EOI.
