We’re seeking a sharp, driven, and dynamic journalist who is eager for their next challenge. This coveted role requires an experienced professional with a keen investigative mind, strong analytical skills, and a commanding voice.

You’ll need the ability to craft clean, concise copy and the confidence to report live to air, especially when breaking political stories unfold. A deep understanding of politics and the resilience to thrive in a competitive newsroom are essential.

Beyond covering the day’s major political stories, you’ll be expected to plan ahead and collaborate closely with the wider NZME news team, ensuring Newstalk ZB remains at the forefront of political coverage.

The role offers varied hours, including evening and weekend shifts, but in return, we provide a supportive environment with opportunities for growth, learning, and diversification.
