At NZME, we’re on a mission to keep Kiwis in the know—empowering, enriching, and enlivening our audiences every day. As a Media Planning Strategist, you’ll be at the heart of that mission, helping shape audience-led publishing and digital strategies that drive real results.
How you’ll do it:
- Planning in response to client briefs and clearly communicating media strategies.
- You will ensure all sales solutions and collateral presented is an accurate reflection of the NZME publishing brands while driving brand integrity and audience engagement.
- Proactively assemble packs, and wrap schedules around planned editorial activities
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to craft a solution that works for all parties.
- Keeping your finger on the pulse of publishing trends and opportunities.
- Supporting multi-platform campaigns across print, digital, and audio.
- Bringing fresh thinking and a curious mindset to every brief.
About you:
- A solid understanding of media channels—especially print and digital.
- Experience in media planning, buying, or strategy (agency or media-side).
- A relevant tertiary qualification in business, marketing or media / communications would be ideal.
- A knack for turning data into compelling narratives.
- Proven media channel planning experience with Nielsen and/or other syndicated audience analysis tools with a thorough understanding of the scope would be highly beneficial
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Demonstrated experience in understanding insights and their application to commercial media opportunities.
- Experience in a successful sales team environment.
