THE OPPORTUNITY:
We’re on the hunt for a Digital Strategist who can bridge the gap between capability and commercial outcomes – someone who thrives on both building confidence in others and driving digital revenue growth.
You’ll sit within the Auckland Direct team, working hand-in-hand with account managers, product specialists, and our central digital team. Your mission? To turn digital capability into tangible commercial outcomes — making NZME the go-to for clients seeking effective, data-led marketing solutions.
HOW YOU'LL DO IT:
As a Digital Strategist, you’ll be the engine behind our digital growth – equipping our media sales team to confidently sell across NZME’s full digital suite, while also identifying and capturing opportunities to drive revenue across performance channels like Google Ads, Meta, and programmatic.
Your work will involve a balance of sales enablement and strategic execution:
- Champion NZME’s digital product suite – including owned platforms and third-party DPM channels – and embed it into the daily toolkit of our sales teams
- Design and deliver digital training, tools, templates, and go-to-market strategies that make it easy for account managers to propose and sell smart digital solutions
- Work alongside sales reps on key accounts, helping to shape and close integrated campaigns that leverage data, insight, and performance media
- Develop and implement digital sales plans that support ambitious revenue targets, particularly in the performance media space
- Identify emerging opportunities and trends across the digital landscape, helping NZME stay ahead of the game and continually evolve its offering
- Bring new digital products to market and ensure smooth rollout, adoption, and performance tracking
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless delivery, strategic alignment, and a strong client experience
ABOUT YOU:
- 2 years’ experience in digital media, marketing, or advertising
- Strong working knowledge of digital platforms – especially performance media such as Google Ads, Meta, and programmatic
- A natural collaborator with experience enabling sales teams and influencing stakeholders
- Proven success in delivering digital revenue growth through strategic thinking and client-first solutions
- Confident communicator who thrives in client meetings, workshops, and strategy sessions
- Curious, commercial, and always scanning for what’s next in the digital space
