THE OPPORTUNITY:
Are you passionate about bringing data to life through intelligent customer journeys and marketing automation? At NZME, we're looking for a Digital Customer Manager (CRM & Lifecycle) – Audio to drive audience growth across iHeartRadio and NZME Audio brands. This is a strategic and hands-on role, requiring expertise in Braze and iHeart Direct Marketing functions to achieve our Audio KPIs.
You'll be responsible for designing automated, multichannel customer journeys that enhance acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and retention. With tools like Braze at your fingertips, you'll own the end-to-end campaign process and shape how our digital audio audiences experience our content.
HOW YOU’LL DO IT:
Acquisition & Onboarding
- Develop and execute lifecycle marketing campaigns to drive new listener registrations, newsletter sign-ups, and first-party data capture.
- Design and build automated onboarding journeys using CRM and marketing automation platforms.
- Optimise conversion funnels from awareness to activation using behavioural data and testing.
Engagement & Retention
- Create compelling, data-driven campaigns to deepen engagement across iHeartRadio, podcasts, and NZME radio brands.
- Orchestrate multichannel marketing automation flows including email, mobile push, in-app, SMS, and social retargeting.
- Personalise content based on user behaviour, preferences, and lifecycle stage.
Audience Focus
- Use segmentation and analytics to deliver relevant content at scale.
- Optimise journeys and campaigns for performance, applying insights from testing and user behaviour.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive messaging and audience-first experiences.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Hands-on experience designing and executing direct digital marketing campaigns via marketing automation platforms (preferably Braze).
- Solid grasp of HTML and responsive design principles for email builds
- Confident with Liquid for dynamic content personalisation
- Experience with marketing automation orchestration across channels.
- Expertise in customer segmentation and behavioural targeting to drive campaign relevance and conversion.
- Understanding of data models and relational databases
- Confident advising internal teams on best practices for CRM strategy, direct campaigns and platform usage.
- Ensure compliance with NZ privacy regulations and deliverability best practices.
ABOUT YOU:
- 3+ years’ hands on campaign experience in Braze or a similar CRM tool
- Experienced user of Braze (or other CRM tool): from audience segmentation to multi-step journey creation
- Data-driven and comfortable with marketing analytics, campaign metrics, and A/B testing.
- Proven experience managing and optimising email marketing campaigns
- Proven ability to communicate a brand story and distribute content across owned channels.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple campaigns and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Proven ability to translate data into creative, engaging, and measurable campaigns.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across marketing, product, and content teams.
- Proactive, agile, and always looking to optimise.
