Senior Account Director - Agency
This role is ideal for an experienced media sales professional ready to lead strategy, influence at a senior level, and drive business outcomes across a complex client portfolio.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
This is a key leadership role within NZME’s Auckland Agency Sales team. As our new Senior Account Director, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of agency clients, leading relationships at a senior level while driving long-term commercial growth.
Working closely with the Group Account Director and senior commercial leaders, you’ll shape strategy across your agency patch, delivering integrated media solutions that maximise value for clients and NZME. This role is ideal for an experienced media sales professional ready to lead strategy, influence at a senior level, and drive business outcomes across a complex client portfolio.
HOW YOU’LL DO IT:
Own the commercial strategy for your agency portfolio, developing and executing business plans that deliver sustainable revenue growth.
Lead senior client relationships, providing strategic guidance and building long-term partnerships.
Drive proactive and reactive opportunities, identify new business, and lead the development of multi-platform proposals across digital, radio and print.
Collaborate closely with internal specialists, ensuring a seamless, insight-led approach to client solutions.
Success in this role comes from combining strong commercial leadership with strategic thinking—using market insights, client understanding and innovation to unlock growth opportunities and strengthen NZME’s position in the market.
ABOUT YOU:
5+ years’ experience in media sales or agency-facing roles
Proven ability to develop and execute client strategies and business plans
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering revenue growth
Confident operating at a senior level with agency partners
Skilled at building long-term relationships and influencing outcomes
Proactive, strategic thinker with deep knowledge of the NZ media landscape
