This is a rare opportunity for a leading role in the coverage of TV, movies, music and more at the New Zealand Herald. You'll provide written, audio and video content for our digital channels, weekly entertainment magazine TimeOut, daily papers and sister brands, including NZME radio stations.

You'll be strongly audience focused and committed to telling stories the right way at the right time. You'll be eager to drive daily digital audience ever higher and continue the strong start to our Premium subscription model. You'll have a brilliant understanding of digital storytelling techniques and be super-social savvy. You'll know a subhead from a sidebar. You'll be a crack writer, adept at smashing out breaking news and crafting beautiful features. You'll be as committed to covering reality TV as alternative rock. You'll have experience of people management and be confident stepping up when the head of entertainment needs back-up.

So you'll be pretty flash then.

That's a lot, but the rewards are pretty flash too, including a competitive salary and some overseas travel. You will be offered the chance to work with the best in the business on award-winning brands and titles in an environment fostering diversity and inclusion. We value our biggest asset, our staff, and show this through our recognition, progression and  development programmes. We’re a culture who live and breathe our values to be Curious, Confident and Connected; meaning we tell it like it is, challenge the status quo, dare to try and have fun along the way.

Address applications to acting head of entertainment and lifestyle, Chris Reed, by Friday 28th February, 2020.

Applicants must have eligibility to work in New Zealand.
