Want to break stories, advocate for New Zealanders, make a difference where it counts and be part of a high-performing news team? Here's your chance. We are looking for a Multimedia Journalist for the Northern Advocate in Whangārei.
Our journos find stories and produce high-quality journalism and content – including general news, crime, politics, entertainment or a specific round – that helps make NZME a leading publisher of digital and print publications and of radio programming.
We are looking for a journalist with flair and tenacity. It should go without saying you have a passion for news, can find great stories and the ability and drive it takes to foot it in today’s ultra-competitive media environment.
You’re a multi-tasker, balancing priorities, projects and tasks with ease. You’re super organised and not worried by changing priorities. You are also a natural communicator, adjusting to changing environments and situations – and all with a ready smile and positive outlook.
This role would suit an entry level journalist, or a recent grad who has a journalist qualification. It is a full time position and will require regular weekend work. Here at NZME, we boast a company culture where we tell it like it is, challenge the status quo, dare to try and have fun at work. We value learning and development in our biggest asset – our staff.
Qualified journalists should apply without delay, enclosing a CV, cover letter and recent examples of published work.
Applicants must be New Zealand residents or have a valid work permit.
