We’re looking for a special person to help lead the news team and consolidate our position as market leader.

This is a rare opportunity for you to assume a leadership role within the award winning Newstalk ZB news team in Wellington.

We’re looking for a special person to help lead the news team and consolidate our position as market leader. The role involves delivering and creating high quality local bulletins from 6am to midday Monday to Friday – as well as a flow of copy around the clock to Newstalk ZB’s national News Centre and working across all NZME platforms.

You will need to be able to set the news agenda for the day, lead and inspire your team to react quickly to breaking news and break stories of significance to the Wellington and wider lower North Island area.

Great news judgement is essential.

You’ll coach and mentor reporters, inspiring a newsroom vision of excellence and liaise with Newstalk ZB’s Editorial Centre in Auckland to ensure complete coverage 24/7.
