Senior Journalist – BusinessDesk
Want to break big stories and set the news agenda? Join New Zealand’s largest business-focussed newsroom in a critical and influential role.
BusinessDesk is looking for an experienced reporter to join our growing team. We focus on subscriptions – not generating clicks – so you will be breaking news and generating deeply researched news and features. This is a senior, Auckland-based role, reporting to the Head of News, and working with our team of journalists across the country.
You will be reporting on a variety of business news issues and will be passionate about finding and breaking stories, with the ability to build contacts and have the drive it takes to foot it in a dynamic media environment.
You will have excellent news judgement, a stellar track record, be deadline driven and have a collegial working style. This role demands time management, excellent communication skills and a strong ability to problem solve.
Our journalism is published via email, at https://businessdesk.co.nz, in our app, on podcasts and in a print section in the New Zealand Herald on Mondays.
You will bring at least 5+ years’ experience in journalism and ideally be familiar with digital news.
